Love Passes On, Guarding Lives — Pengyu Automobile Powers "Qiaoxin Ambulances" Serving Grassroots Healthcare

On the morning of April 21,2026 under bright spring weather, sixteen brand-new Overseas Chinese Heart Ambulances lined up neatly in the Pengyu Automobile Industrial Park in Jinwan District, Zhuhai, ready for handover. Distinguished guests and philanthropic representatives from the Guangdong Overseas Chinese Heart Charity Foundation and Zhongshan Lindong Charity Foundation gathered to witness this heartwarming donation ceremony.

Organized by the Guangdong Overseas Chinese Heart Charity Foundation and co-hosted by Zhuhai Pengyu Automobile Co., Ltd., the event saw three philanthropic donors – Mr. Sun Haoxuan from Hong Kong, Ms. Rongzi from Singapore, and the Zhongshan Lindong Charity Foundation – jointly donate a total of 16 ambulances to grassroots township health centers across different regions to boost pre-hospital emergency care capacity at the primary medical level.

The ceremony officially kicked off at 10 a.m. Mr. Chen Zhiwei, Supervisor General of the Guangdong Overseas Chinese Heart Charity Foundation, delivered an address on behalf of the Foundation. He extended sincere gratitude to all philanthropists who have long supported grassroots medical and health services, and spoke highly of the fruitful outcomes of the decade-long Overseas Chinese Heart Ambulance Program. Afterwards, representatives of the donors took the floor, reaffirming their commitment to grassroots emergency medical services and conveying profound care for residents in recipient areas.

The vehicle handover session brought the event to a climax. All distinguished guests stepped onto the stage to formally hand over vehicle keys to representatives of beneficiary health centers. The sixteen ambulances ignited their engines one after another, fully equipped and ready to depart for grassroots medical posts across eastern, western and northern Guangdong, serving as mobile lifelines safeguarding local residents’ health.

Launched in 2016, the Overseas Chinese Heart Ambulance Program has entered its tenth year. Initiated and coordinated by the Guangdong Overseas Chinese Heart Charity Foundation, the program unites numerous overseas and domestic charitable organizations and individuals to donate professional ambulances to grassroots medical institutions in remote areas nationwide. It aims to shorten emergency response times and upgrade medical service standards in underdeveloped regions.

Including this latest batch of donations, the program has provided a total of 153 ambulances, covering township health centers across 26 provinces and autonomous regions nationwide, building a life-saving channel for tens of thousands of grassroots residents to receive timely medical treatment.

The 16 ambulances donated this time will be allocated primarily to eastern, western and northern Guangdong, further improving pre-hospital emergency capabilities of local grassroots medical institutions and offering new solutions to ease rural residents’ difficulties of accessing medical care due to long travel distances. Each ambulance carries heavy trust and social responsibility far beyond its material value.

Mr. Sun Haoxuan from Hong Kong: Intergenerational Inheritance of Philanthropic Spirit Mr. Chen Junshi, grandfather of Mr. Sun Haoxuan, has long dedicated himself to supporting China’s charitable causes. Influenced by the elder Mr. Chen, three generations of the family – Mr. Pan Yaozhan, Ms. Pan Xinting and Mr. Sun Haoxuan – have made charitable donations through the Guangdong Overseas Chinese Heart Charity Foundation totaling over RMB 15 million. Between 2023 and 2026, the three generations together donated 29 ambulances to the Overseas Chinese Heart Ambulance Program. On this occasion, Mr. Sun Haoxuan alone donated 13 units, setting a new record for a single individual donation.

Ms. Rongzi from Singapore: Boundless Benevolence Transcending National Borders Ms. Rongzi, a renowned Chinese-language writer based in Singapore and Honorary Chairperson of the Guangdong Overseas Chinese Heart Charity Foundation, traces her ancestral roots to Chao’an, Guangdong. For more than 30 years, she has maintained deep affection for her hometown and generously contributed to education support, poverty alleviation, disaster relief and other initiatives, with cumulative donations of RMB 7 million through the Foundation. Though residing overseas, she never forgets charitable work in her hometown. Her latest donation of two ambulances continues her sincere patriotism that crosses national boundaries.

Zhongshan Lindong Charity Foundation: Persistence of a “Grassroots Philanthropist” Mr. Lin Dong, a patriotic Macao compatriot hailed as a “grassroots philanthropist”, spent his whole life cherishing his ancestral roots and readily giving to those in need. Under his leadership, the Lindong charity team has completed over 60 charitable projects in more than four decades, built more than 20 schools, with Mr. Lin’s personal donations exceeding RMB 20 million and funds raised by him surpassing RMB 10 million. This marks the first participation of the Lindong Charity Foundation in the Overseas Chinese Heart Ambulance Program, representing a new step in its public welfare undertakings focusing on medical and health services.
